We recently took our RV to Ridgway State Park and had a great time. The campground is clean with beautiful views. They have a swim beach, lots of hiking trails, opportunities for fishing, boating, kayaking, paddleboarding and more. The bathrooms were clean and there were several sprinkled throughout the campground area. We arrived the day we wanted to camp so we were able to drive around and pick any open spot that we wanted. It was perfect! We highly recommend this site for RV camping!

We love the Florida Keys! The beaches are fantastic but there are lots of other fun family activities to enjoy, many of which are also educational. The Dolphin Research Center on Marathon is the best place to see dolphins face-to-face. Theater of the Sea on Islamorada is pet friendly, has a wide variety of animal shows & a small beach where you can swim with parrot fish. Robbies on Tavernier is a great place to rent a kayak to explore the mangroves & also feed the tarpon fish from the dock. We have yet to visit the Turtle Hospital, also on Marathon, but it’s next on our list because we’ve heard great things about it.

One great way to cut costs on hotels is to not stay at a hotel. Think of friends or family members that live near the place you want to visit. Even if you drive a few hours out of the way to stay at a free place its well worth the savings on a hotel fee. We try to ask well in advance and thank them. Then we can return the favor someday for them and its a win-win. What are some ways you save money on lodging?
